| * | Add a new web-time-compat crate.Nick Mathewson2026-03-265-0/+216
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This crate provides a compatibility layer in front of web-time, which will serve three purposes: 1. Saving us from having to build web_time when we don't need it. (This is mainly aesthetic.) 2. Allowing us to continue to use std::time::SystemTime to represent our wall-clock times and dates. This is fairly valuable, since we use a bunch of external crates that expect std::time::SystemTime inputs and don't want a web_time::SystemTime. 3. Add extension methods to web_time::Instant and std::time::Instant so that we can enforce the use of web_time::Instant by disallowing std::time::Instant::now(). (We can't just use the same trick as in (2) to use std::time::Instant everywhere, since there is no way to convert a web_time::Instant to a std::time::Instant.)
| * | retry-error: Port to web-time.Nick Mathewson2026-03-262-2/+39
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is independent of other crates, since this one is lower-level than the tor-* crates. Note that we're using std::time::SystemTime except for its `now` method; this will be our practice elsewhere too.

| * | | Progress on arti-client compilation on wasm32 target.Alexander Hansen Færøy2026-03-261-1/+3
| |/ / | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch makes tempfile a dev-dependency for all non-wasm targets. This makes us able to get one step further in compiling arti-client for Wasm as it get rid of a build error related to the errno crate.

| * | | Mark the http-connect feature as stable.Nick Mathewson2026-03-251-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | (It is not yet in default, though we intend that it eventually should be.) Closes #2409.
| * | | arti: Add an option to disable http_connect.Nick Mathewson2026-03-256-25/+86
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This option affects all socks listeners, because: - We don't have a convenient way to associate an option with each port. - The main purpose of having this option is as a switch in case we discover a major problem with this code.

* | | arti: Mostly make clippy happy for wasm with --no-default-features.Nick Mathewson2026-03-253-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | (With no-default-features there is no runtime, and that still causes a compiler error.)
* | | arti-client: Stub out usage of FsStateMgr on wasm32-unknown.Nick Mathewson2026-03-252-7/+41
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The replacement (TestingStateMgr) is not correct, but it will compile until we have a supported state manager. (This made cargo-sort have me move a section around. Not sure why it cares.)
* | | consdiff: Additionally require tor-netdoc/ns-vote.Nick Mathewson2026-03-251-1/+2

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Requiring all features, including experimental features, is too general.

| * | | tor-basic-utils: Remove IoErrorExt and BinaryHeapExt.Nick Mathewson2026-03-253-52/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | IoErrorExt existed to provide a workaround for Rust versions that didn't have io::ErrorKind::NotADirectory. But NotADirectory was stabilized in 1.83 and our MSRV is 1.89. BinaryHeapExt existed to provide an implementation for Rust versions that didn't have BinaryHeap::retain. But BinaryHeap::retain was stabilized in 1.70 and our MSRV is 1.70.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since we renamed PollingStream and NonblockingStream to BlockingConnection and NonblockingConnection, it no longer makes sense to refer to them as streams, or put them in variables called "stream".

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit is almost entirely code movement; it's probably best to review this one with --color-moved. I've had to make a field (temporarily) pub(super). The next commit will fix that.
| * | | | rpc: Rename nb_stream.rs → ll_conn.rsNick Mathewson2026-03-256-11/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since we are no longer calling these types "streams" I've decided to revert to the old name for this module.
