Fixes part of #2193.

were correct from immediate context.)

This has:
* Fixes to hygiene spans from the new modules feature, needed for
my WIP netdoc encoder derive.
* A substantially richer `${error }` construct.

Done using:
```
for crate in $(./maint/list_crates | rg '^(tor|arti-)'); do
cargo set-version -p $crate 0.37.0
done
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
This has the meta attributes with optional values feature and also
hygiene rework for modules.
The breaking changes don't break arti.
Bump derive-deftly to 1.4.0
This will let us use the new modules feature.
There are no breaking changes to beta features in 1.4.0.
Because we've updated our MSRV, we must bump the minor version for every
package.
This was done as follows:
cargo set-version -p slotmap-careful 0.4.0
cargo set-version -p test-temp-dir 0.5.0
Remove check_doc_features and doc_auto_cfg.
Closes #1514
This feature has been removed from nightly, in favor of doc_cfg.
Fixes
warning: struct `PossumCage` is never constructed
warning: associated function `make_cast_table` is never used
with
cargo +stable clippy --locked --offline -p tor-rpcbase --all-targets
Most of our builds happen with --all-features so we don't notice. In
that case I think something to do with method
printing:(`describe-methods`) is using things enough for the compiler
not to complain.
Closes #2107
|
| | |
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
Per policy, we bump the minor version of every tor-*, arti-* crate
on each release.
We have updated our MSRV, so we're treating this as a breaking
change for our non-(arti/tor)-prefixed crates too.
This is now a reserved identifier. The automatic migration
changed it to a raw identifier (`r#gen`), but it's better to use a
different name.
First, run
```
git grep -l "^edition =" |
xargs perl -i -pe 's/^edition *=.*/edition = "2024"/;'
```
Second, manually verify that all Cargo.toml files have changed,
and nothing else has changed.
Third, run cargo fmt again.
1. Run cargo fix --edition
2. Selectively revert the "if let"->"match" changes.
These changes are meant to protect us from the lifetime changes
for "if let" bindings in Rust 2024.
But we're not actually relying on the old lifetime rules
anywhere, and the match syntax here is quite ugly.
3. Automatically revert `$pat:expr_2021` to `$pat:expr`.
(We don't actually want to restrict the expression syntax
that our macros accept).
Done with
`git grep -l expr_2021 | xargs perl -i -pe 's/expr_2021/expr/g;'`
4. Run cargo fmt.
I had to also bump `toml` to `0.8.23`, because `toml 0.8.22` is
incompatible with `serde_spanned 0.6.9` (which is automatically pulled
in because of the d-d upgrade).
This is released now. Prepared with:
cargo upgrade -i -p derive-deftly
There is some new duplication now I think mostly because pwd-grp uses
old derive-deftly.
There was formally a redundant method of this name, which could get
out-of-sync with invoke_without_dispatch. But now that method is
gone, and this TODO is wrong.
The current cancel code is prone to deadlock, so the easiest way to
solve it appears to be making cancel requests themselves
uncancellable.
I've included a test to verify the behavior; previously, this test
caused a deadlock.
