* tor-netdoc: Abolish the hsdesc-inner-docs featureIan Jackson2026-04-301-6/+1
| | | | | | | Part of #2492 phase 3. This feature was experimental, so now that there are no cfg use gates, we can abolish it right away.
* tor-cert: Remove the "encode" cargo featureIan Jackson2026-04-291-2/+2
| | | | This was experimental. Everything gated by it has been stabilised.
* tor-netdoc: Require "encode" feature from tor-certIan Jackson2026-04-281-1/+1
| | | | | This is needed because we don't have !3926 in main yet. It will produce a semantic conflict when that merges.
* tor-netdoc: Make rand dependency unconditionalIan Jackson2026-04-231-4/+4
| | | | | | Part of #2492. We're going to make encode unconditional, and remove all the cfg-gates for it. Code currently gated by encode depends on rand.
* tor-netdoc: Introduce the `incomplete` cargo featureIan Jackson2026-04-211-2/+5
| | | | | | Part of #2492 phase 1. No semver note because this is an experimental feature.
* tor-netdoc: Make the document type features imply each other and `encode`Ian Jackson2026-04-211-2/+6
| | | | | | Part of #2492 phase 1. No semver note because this is an undocumented transitional phase.
* tor-netdoc: Introduce Hostname newtypeIan Jackson2026-04-201-0/+1
| | | | Tests will come in a moment.
* tor-netdoc: Explicitly upgrade derive-moreClara Engler2026-04-021-1/+1
| | | | | | derive-more 2.1.1 makes use of the rename_all features in the display and from_str proc-macros, which do not exist in 2.0.1, meaning minimal-versions will fail.
* tor-netdoc: Use proper PEM parser for testvecsClara Engler2026-04-021-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | This commit uses a proper PEM parser as a dev-dependency to tor-netdoc for parsing PEM entries, instead of hard-coding long DER byte strings. It is better to use an external crate for this here, rather than the existing somewhat accessible (only through traits) implementation of parse2, because it feels wrong testing parse2 with parse2.
* Update to derive-deftly 0.11.0 to pick up `meta_quoted rigorous`Ian Jackson2026-04-021-1/+1
|
* tor-netdoc: Include rand dependency when encodeIan Jackson2026-04-011-1/+1
| | | | | Fixes build with nailing-cargo test -p tor-netdoc --no-default-features --features encode
* Update to derive-deftly 0.10.0.Ian Jackson2026-03-311-1/+1
| | | | There are no breaking changes.

* tor-netdoc: Implement new authority certificatesClara Engler2025-12-041-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | This commit implements directory authority certificates using the `parse2` approaches. For now, those are in a module `doc::authcert::tmp`, with the eventual goal of moving it into its super module after removing/deprecating the legacy types.
* Merge branch 'protover_refactor' into 'main'Nick Mathewson2025-12-041-1/+0
|\ | | | | | | | | Make Protocols type inherently interned; add notes about usage. See merge request tpo/core/arti!3524
| * netdoc: Remove protocol interning.Nick Mathewson2025-12-031-1/+0
| | | | | | | | (It's now done in tor_protover.)
* | Update to derive-deftly 1.6.0Ian Jackson2025-12-031-1/+1
|/ | | | | | | | | This has: * Fixes to hygiene spans from the new modules feature, needed for my WIP netdoc encoder derive. * A substantially richer `${error }` construct.
* Bump all the unstable tor- and arti- crates to 0.37.0.Gabriela Moldovan2025-12-021-13/+13
| | | | | | | | | Done using: ``` for crate in $(./maint/list_crates | rg '^(tor|arti-)'); do cargo set-version -p $crate 0.37.0 done
* tor-netdoc: Remove bitflags from Cargo.tomlIan Jackson2025-11-181-1/+0
|
* tor-netdoc: Replace RelayFlag with an enum and RelayFlags with an EnumSetIan Jackson2025-11-181-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now: `RelayFlag` is a single flag, which is a different type to `RelayFlags`. `FromStr` and `Display` are now implemented in a normal way for a single flag. We don't use bitflags, with its funky input syntax, any more. Instead, we have a normal enum. No longer is it possible to have a `RelayFlags` with "unknown bits" set (whatever that means). (Therefore, an associated test case for this is now gone.) The names are principally specified just as enum variant names. The enum variant names can be identical to the network document keywords. Briefly, we provide constants in capitals, for the benefit of all the call sites. That means that *this* commit can contain only the primary changes. A few macro-generated things have been adjusted in this commit, but they are actually going to go away. Indentation is now wrong. We'll fix that at the end.
* tor-netdoc: Add experimental retain-unknown featureIan Jackson2025-11-181-0/+4
|
* tor-netdoc: Introduce "encode" feature for the like-named moduleIan Jackson2025-11-101-1/+4
| | | | | | | We're going to introduce facilities for encoding more generally, and we'll want a way to enable them. Instead, have a separate feature for *encoding* documents.
* Bump derive-deftly to 1.5.0Ian Jackson2025-11-071-1/+1
| | | | | | | This has the meta attributes with optional values feature and also hygiene rework for modules. The breaking changes don't break arti.
* Bump derive-deftly to 1.4.0Ian Jackson2025-11-061-1/+1
| | | | | | This will let us use the new modules feature. There are no breaking changes to beta features in 1.4.0.
* maint: bump minor versions of all published cratesSteven Engler2025-10-291-13/+13
| | | | | | | ```bash readarray -t publish < <(cargo metadata --format-version 1 | jq -r '.packages[] | select((.id | startswith("path+file:///")) and (.rust_version != null) and (.publish == null or .publish == true or .publish != [])) | .name') for package in "${publish[@]}"; do echo "$package:"; cargo set-version --bump minor -p "$package"; done ```

This was done as follows: cargo set-version -p arti 1.6.0 cargo set-version -p oneshot-fused-workaround 0.4.0 cargo set-version -p slotmap-careful 0.4.0 cargo set-version -p test-temp-dir 0.5.0 cargo set-version -p fslock-guard 0.4.0 cargo set-version -p hashx 0.5.0 cargo set-version -p equix 0.4.0 cargo set-version -p caret 0.7.0 cargo set-version -p fs-mistrust 0.12.0 cargo set-version -p safelog 0.6.0 cargo set-version -p retry-error 0.8.0 xargs -I P <<END cargo set-version -p P 0.35.0 tor-basic-utils tor-error tor-general-addr tor-geoip tor-rtcompat tor-rtmock tor-async-utils tor-config tor-config-path tor-rpc-connect tor-log-ratelim tor-rpcbase tor-memquota tor-units tor-llcrypto tor-bytes tor-protover tor-checkable tor-cert tor-key-forge tor-hscrypto tor-socksproto tor-linkspec tor-cell tor-proto tor-netdoc tor-consdiff tor-netdir tor-relay-selection tor-persist tor-keymgr tor-chanmgr tor-ptmgr tor-dircommon tor-guardmgr tor-circmgr tor-dirclient tor-dirmgr tor-dirserver tor-hsclient tor-hsservice tor-hsrproxy tor-relay-crypto arti-client arti-relay arti-rpcserver arti-ureq arti-rpc-client-core END

* Bump the minor version of every published crate except for `arti`.Nick Mathewson2025-08-281-13/+13
| | | | | | | | Per policy, we bump the minor version of every tor-*, arti-* crate on each release. We have updated our MSRV, so we're treating this as a breaking change for our non-(arti/tor)-prefixed crates too.
* Run "fixup-features"Nick Mathewson2025-08-271-2/+2

* Update phf dependency to 0.13.1Nick Mathewson2025-08-261-1/+1

* tor-netdoc: Introduce experimental ns-vote featureIan Jackson2025-08-261-0/+3
| | | | | | Now we can start actually having code to do with votes. This feature doesn't actually contain any new API surface yet.
* tor-netdoc: Rename ns-consensus to plain-consensusIan Jackson2025-08-181-3/+3
| | | | | | ns-consensus doesn't seem to have ever been released. This is part of abolishing the use of "ns" to mean "plain".
* tor-netdoc: Change feature name to `ns-consensus` with a hyphenIan Jackson2025-08-181-1/+3
| | | | | | | Our features are generally kebab-case, and this is the way it's documented. Retain the old name for compatibility.
* tor-netdoc: Introduce parse2, new parserIan Jackson2025-08-141-0/+4
| | | | | This isn't used anywhere yet. We're going to demonstrate it, and test the demo, in a moment.
* tor-netdoc: Add dependencies: derive-deftly, paste, strum, testresultIan Jackson2025-08-141-0/+4
| | | | | | testresult is a new dependency for arti.git. (It's being added as a test-dependenchy here.) It is has a very useful Result type for use in test cases.
* tor-netdoc: sort the experimental cargo featuresIan Jackson2025-08-141-2/+2

* Switch Cargo.toml files to edition 2024.Nick Mathewson2025-08-071-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | First, run ``` git grep -l "^edition =" | xargs perl -i -pe 's/^edition *=.*/edition = "2024"/;' ``` Second, manually verify that all Cargo.toml files have changed, and nothing else has changed. Third, run cargo fmt again.
