This commit executes maint/add_warning with the just added change to
deny string slices except in tests.
I recommend auditing this by checking out the previous commit followed
by running the script yourself and then verifying that the diff is
identical to this commit.
This commit makes cargo clippy fail. We will add exceptions in the next
commit.

When the circ-padding feature is enabled, we use maybenot, which does
not yet support rand 0.10. In the meantime, enabling this feature pulls
in rand 0.9. This is not ideal, but should be okay as a temporary
situation.
This also replaces the use of ReseedingRng (which was removed in 0.10)
with the reseeding_rng crate. This is somewhat less performant, but it
should be okay.

Run maint/add_warning
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
First, run
```
git grep -l "^edition =" |
xargs perl -i -pe 's/^edition *=.*/edition = "2024"/;'
```
Second, manually verify that all Cargo.toml files have changed,
and nothing else has changed.
Third, run cargo fmt again.

- The Rng::gen() functions have been renamed to Rng::random().

This fixes a warning from nightly clippy.

Apparently 1.68 now warns when you call into_iter() on something
that's already an iterator. Fair enough. Let's stop doing that.

This panics on error, and we're fine with a panic on misbehavior in
tests.

This is precisely the result of running the rune in
maint/adhoc-add-lint-blocks.

This only affects uses of thread_rng(), and affects them all more or
less indiscriminately. One test does not work with
ARTI_TEST_PRNG=deterministic; the next commit will fix it.

- Function renamed & docs tidied up a bit
- Function signature now takes what it needs (immutable &dyn Store
instead of mutex, slice instead of Vec) and nothing more
- DocQuery::load_documents_into was also renamed
DocQuery::load_from_store_into and given similar treatment
|
| |
|
|
|
| |
Move the function out of DirMgr, giving it a new &Mutex<DynStore>
argument instead.

(We keep routerdescs in the schema, since we don't want _that_ to
fragment.)
Part of #125.

This will cause some pain for now, but now is really the best time
to do this kind of thing.
