This bumps the versions of the non-{arti,tor-}
crates that have non-functional changes:
- fslock-guard (updated rustdoc-args)
- equix (comment typo fixes)
- caret (updated rustdoc-args)
- safelog (updated rustdoc-args)
- retry-error (updated rustdoc-args)
And of the pre-1.0.0 crates that have new APIs:
- fs-mistrust (new `CheckedDir::metadata` API)
Done using
```
for c in "${non_tor[@]}"; do maint/bump_nodep $c; done
```
where `non_tor` contains the list above

It now does it automatically, see

These crates had first-order breaking changes:
```
retry-error
tor-keymgr
tor-proto
tor-hsclient
tor-rtmock
```
Additionally, these broke because they re-exposed RetryError:
```
tor-circmgr
```
Additionally, these broke because they may re-expose something from
tor-proto:
```
arti-client
tor-chanmgr
tor-dirclient
tor-dirmgr
tor-guardmgr
```
Additionally, these broke for other fiddly reasons:
`tor-ptmgr` implements traits from tor-chanmgr, which has a breaking
change above.
`arti-hyper` exposes types from arti-client in its API.
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
The effect is that everywhere a RetryError is used, the error sources
for the contained errors will be Display'd.
In tor-hsclient we no longer need to explicitly wrap things up in
tor_error::Report.
|
| |
|
|
|
| |
We're going to require that a RetryError contains things that are
AsRef<dyn Error> and ParseIntError isn't so we need a newtype.
|
| |
|
|
|
| |
This code came from tor-error. So now tor-error depends on
retry-error.

These crates have had nonfunctional changes only, mostly due to !1271,
or ac90cb7500f2f108, or documentation changes: crates that depend on
them do not require a version bump.

This does the following:
- Gives every crate a `full`.
- Cause every `full` to depend on `full` from the lower-level
crates.
- Makes every feature listed _directly_ in `experimental` depend
on `__is_experimental`.

Because of the errorkind bumps, we're calling this a breaking change
in everything lower-level than `arti`.

These crates have not had changes to their behavior; as such it is
not necessary to bump their dependencies to require the new versions.
|
| |
|
|
|
| |
This panics on error, and we're fine with a panic on misbehavior in
tests.

This warning kind of snuck up on us! (See #748) For now, let's
disable it. (I've cleaned it up in a couple of examples, since
those are meant to be more idiomatic and user-facing.)
Closes #748.

This is precisely the result of running the rune in
maint/adhoc-add-lint-blocks.
|
| |
|
|
|
| |
We made this job easy this time around: by incrementing our MSRV, we
have forced ourselves to do at least a minor bump everywhere.
|
| | |
|
| | |
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
| |
Apparently cargo fmt doesn't like these, which my perl rune didn't
delete.
This commit is precisely the result of `cargo fmt`.
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
The feature we want is `#[doc = include_str!("README.md")]`, which is
stable since 1.54 and our MSRV is now 1.56.
This commit is precisely the result of the following Perl rune:
perl -i~ -0777 -pe 's{(^//!(?!.*\@\@).*\n)+}{#![doc = include_str!("../README.md")]\n}m' crates/*/src/lib.rs

Since our last round of releases, these crates have had either
trivial changes, or changes that did not affect their APIs.
Therefore we are bumping their versions, but not changing which
versions of them other crates depend on.
|
| | |
|
| |
|
|
|
|
| |
"Trivial" here includes stuff like cargo reformatting, comment
edits, error message string changes, and clippy warning changes.
Crates that depend on these do not need to increment.

Update all lint blocks

From running add_warning, with manual picking of the right
hunks/lines.
|

This was the result of:
maint/add_warning crates/*/src/{lib,main}.rs
and then manually curating the results.

The arti crate itself is only used in benchmark and testing crate.
I think this sentence does not belong here.
Also extend retry-error description (from Architecture.md).

This is an automated change made with a perl one-liner and verified
with grep -L and grep -l.
Some warnings are introduced with this change; they will be removed
in subsequent commits.
See arti#208 for older discussion on this issue.

This change was made automatically with a perl one-liner, and
confirmed with `grep -L`.
The `rust-version` field itself was introduced in 1.56.0.
|

|

|

There are no semantic changes here; only formatting. This is in
preparation for other changes (wrt MSRV and edition)

In theory n_errors could overflow, which is an error in Rust.
The check is cheap and I have added a test for it.

Unlike the rest of the crates, these don't have a "tor-" or "arti-"
prefix, and are potentially used by code outside arti. With that in
mind, it's probably for the best not to bump them to 0.2.0 along
with the rest of our crates.
They have had no changes since 0.1.0 other than refactoring and
changing of clippy lints. Therefore, I'm not bumping the
dependencies from other crates onto these: it's fine whether our
other crates use caret/retry-error 0.1.0 or 0.1.1.

This just clones the fields. It is not clear to me why it was
written this way in be86df631dec
Remove anyhow dependency from tor-retry, and rename it to retry-error
Previously, I think, RetryError wasn't Clone.
