* Make all TorClient constructors wrap the TorClient in an Arc.Nick Mathewson2026-05-131-6/+6
| | | | | | This is part of rationalizing the structure of TorClient so we can refactor startup logic, and so that RPC code can reason about object identity. See #2469.
* Allow clippy::collapsible_if to triggerGabriela Moldovan2026-02-161-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | `clippy::collapsible_if` started triggering after bumping the MSRV to 1.88. Since this triggers from a lot of places, and since there even are a couple of instances where we explicitly allow `clippy::collapsible_ifs`, I've opened #2342 for deciding what to do about it.
* maint/add_warning: Run script to add new warningGabriela Moldovan2026-01-271-0/+1
| | | | This adds the lint to all our crates.

* Remove "doc_auto_cfg" incantation from all crates.Nick Mathewson2025-09-291-1/+1
| | | | This feature has been removed from nightly, in favor of doc_cfg.
* proto: Move the `stream` module under `client` (breaking).Gabriela Moldovan2025-08-181-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | The `stream` module is client-specific, for the most part, so I am moving it under `client`. Later on, we will factor out the parts that can be shared with the relay implementation. Note: this is a breaking change as the deleted `stream` module was `pub`. We could've kept the module and reexported from it the public types from `tor_proto::client::stream`, but I think it's better to have this `client` namespacing, because it makes the separation between the client and relay parts clearer.
* Fix warnings and errors from edition 2024.Nick Mathewson2025-08-071-4/+2
| | | | | | | | | | The two main causes of errors were: - Since some of the lifetime rules have changed, we no longer need to do as many "bind a variable and immediately return it" patterns, and so clippy now warns about them. - We needed to adjust the explicit captures (`use<...>`) in a couple of our RPIT instances.
* Switch Cargo.toml files to edition 2024.Nick Mathewson2025-08-071-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | First, run ``` git grep -l "^edition =" | xargs perl -i -pe 's/^edition *=.*/edition = "2024"/;' ``` Second, manually verify that all Cargo.toml files have changed, and nothing else has changed. Third, run cargo fmt again.
* arti-ureq: Move `builder()` and `new()` to non-generic PreferredRuntime implnield2025-08-041-4/+6
| | | | `builder()` and `new()` always return a runtime with `tor_rtcompat::PreferredRuntime` so these methods should only be implemented for that type.

* | *: use std::io::Error::other in many placesNick Mathewson2025-05-151-1/+1
|/ | | | | | | The `IoError::other` function is an easier way to say `IoError::new(IoErrorKind::Other, ...)`. It's been around since 1.74, but clippy started warning about the more verbose version in 1.87.
* arti-ureq: Simplify use of map_or().Nick Mathewson2025-04-091-4/+4
| | | | | Clippy is complaining that these can be simplified, so I took its recommendations.
